The Maharani is a recurring enemy of the Inspector, who has known him since their time at the Infinity Knight Police-Time Academy. She was played by English actress Liza Goddard.
Although she escaped from the Seventh Inspector at the end of "Space or the Maharani", her impounded spaceship was requisitioned by the Inspector, who renamed it the HMS Spacetime 12 and used it instead of the BOOTH as transportation for the rest of Season 24. Returning in "Krakenice", she revealed she had manipulated him into taking it (part of a plot that the programme left hanging).
The Maharani is infamous for being the villian in the appalingly bad Inspector Spacetime 30th anniversary charity special "Concepts of Space".
