Coco was a fearless and free-spirited American bohemian who cheerfully accompanied the First Inspector on his final series of adventures before his metamorphosis.
- When Leslie French abruptly announced his decision in 1965 to leave the programme in order to avoid typecasting and Christopher Lee was being hastily recruited to take his place, Ms. Quayle decided to depart as well. ("I admire Mr. Lee's acting and all, but that fellow's scary!" she explained in an interview with Inspector Spacetime Magazine.) She was planning to leave without an on-screen farewell in the third season's final story, "The Peacemakers", but the producers cajoled her into appearing briefly in the first episode of "The Opium Dealers" to kick off the fourth season.
- Her resulting tearful farewell with the Inspector, shot on location in Victoria Station, is often cited as one of the emotional high-points of the classic Inspector Spacetime series.
