Adolf Hitler was the genocidal dictator of the Third Reich from 1934 to 1945. In a notorious piece of stunt-casting, he was played by German director Uwe Boll in Series 6.
"Let's Kill Hitler"EditWith the Hitler Time Travel Exemption Act coming up for renewal by the Penumbra Cabinet, the Eleventh Inspector takes his associates to 1930s Berlin to check up on its chronological coherence. When Aidan kills the dictator, however, he is alternately furious with him and terrified of the awful world they'll find when they return to the early 21st century. In fact, they find millions of lives were saved because there was no Holocaust; World War II and the Cold War never happened, ushering in an unprecedented era of peace on Earth; and an undivided Germany became a beacon of tolerance and diversity, a shining example for all nations. Unfortunately, this new state of affairs turns out to leave the planet vulnerable to the Blorgon invasion of 2164, so the Inspector must take Aidan back in time to undo his actions.
- That Ripoff would, of course, poach the title for one of its episodes, but, typically, missed the point.
- The scene in which Aidan strangles der Führer to death with his bare hands became an Internet meme, spawning numerous YouTube parodies in which anachronistically dubbed videos show Hitler and Aidan arguing over cinematic aesthetics and movie trivia.
